This is a lesson plan for K 11 (2nd Lyceum in Greek Education system, tested in a class of the 1st Lyceum of St. Dimitrios, Athens, Greece in 2017) focusing connecting the climate change impacts with the everyday life of the Greek students.
This work can be seen as an example of using a blog in class-work. It was designed and carried out by Mr George Liarakos, Secondary level Teacher and Master Student in «Didactics of Chemistry and New Educational Technologies» of the University of Athens (DiXiNET).

This lesson plan targets K-8 students of Chemistry specifically referring to the "Carbon Dioxide" section (as taught in 2nd Gymnasium, Greek Educational System),. The plan was developed in two parts with the aims of a) presentation of the cognitive aspects; and b) changing the behavior of the students.
Starting with the physical properties and the uses of carbon dioxide, students explore the carbon dioxide cycle, as part of the carbon cycle. They learn about the greenhouse effect, and what human activities are associated with climate change. They are introduced to sustainable development issues (overpopulation, renewable energy, consumption, etc.) they learn about about the carbon footprint and calculate their own at home, with the help of their family. They discuss their findings in class and set their own reduction targets.

This educational project "Water, the gifts of rain" engaged kindergarten children and aimed to raise their awareness towards the sustainable management of water, focusing on issues such as the weather, the rainfalls, the water shortage, water responsible behaviour, etc. The project was implemented at the 12th Kinderagarten School of Iraklion in Crete (Greece) and coordinated by the teacher, Ms Aspasia Vassilaki.

This is a large board (floor) game with many types of "challenges" for the players relating to mechanisms, causes and consequences of climate change. It is designed for 12-14 yrs and may be applied within one academic hour, to sensitize and improve students' knowledge relating to the phenomenon in a didactic, dynamic and funny way.

It has been successfully applied at secondary level students (12-15 yrs) in a high school of Greece. It requires few, easy to find materials, and it takes 1-2 school hours. It can be carried out as a 'warm up' starting activity of an EE / ESD programme, followed by other extension activities, or to enrich a typical physics, or science lesson.
