The Report on the implementation of Education for Sustainable Development in the framework of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Developmen was presented by UNESCO on October 14, 2019, at the United Nations General Assembly and was unanimously welcomed demonstrating a clear acknowledgement of education key role in the 2030 Agenda. The report offers a review of the implementation of ESD, in particular through the GAP, in the framework of the 2030 Agenda. It also provides an overview of the draft framework for ESD for the period from 2020 to 2030, entitled ESD for 2030 making recommendations for ESD implementation in the future.
This new framework aims to strengthen ESD in an effort to build a more just and inclusive world. The framework will be officially launched at the Global Conference on ESD , to be held in Berlin, Germany in June 2020.
